Sorry to bring back an old blog, but since you've (somewhat) recently asked for updates, I figured I'd give you one. It seems the whole Data Store API has been deprecated :/

By the looks of it, DataStoreAdmin isn't functional at the moment. Can't even “CreateObjectType” through the online editor.

Thanks for an article.
I use free PHP hosting at 110mb.com that doesn’t support MySQL in free. So Data Store API is the best way for me. But i find it bad idea to disable retriving objects by properties through fql query. Anyway, it works fine.

I found following mistakes in an article:

7th paragraph: “…Object Type once, although can can create…”

Example full Code pre-last line:
$description = $facebook->api_client->data_getObjectProperty( $rowID, “text” );
i suppose it should be:
$description = $facebook->api_client->data_getObjectProperty( $objectID, “text” );
